2009?

2009 is here...amazing.  OK...sorry friends and family, I became a very poor blogger in the month of December due to life happening a little too fast.  It was great to see so many of you throughout the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons!  For those who didn't know, our visitors went something like this: Natalie's mom, Nancy, stayed with us for 3 weeks in November right after Brylie's birth and Natalie's near tragedy...my parents, Barry and Kathy, came out for 5 days around Thanksgiving...the day they left, my cuz Jordan Huskins came out for about 5 days, as he was interviewing for his residency at the U of A...Jordan left and two days later Natalie's parents, Don and Nancy came out with some of their friends, Larry and Linda McMullen, for a vacation in Tucson.  They were here for nearly a week of fun in the desert.  After they left we had a whole two and a half weeks without visitors before my parents, my brother Jared and his wife Lauren, and my sister Kristen all came out to stay with us for a week over Christmas!  It was one of the busiest 2-month periods of my life that I can ever recall, but oh what a blessing!  So now the Kolter house feels a bit empty compared to the last two months...but we feel so filled with love and blessings from those who came to visit!

As I have reflected on 2008, I see that God has blessed us more than I could have imagined...a move to Tucson, a new job, a house to live in, a great start in Kindergarten for Hallie, our precious new baby girl, delivery of my wife from near tragedy and her complete healing, and all of the prayers, love, and pouring out of blessings rained on us by friends and family all over the world!  Thank you so much to all of you!

I have also come to realize, through so much of 2008, that the prayers and desires of my heart have often been just that...my desires.  I have always said "not my will, but yours Lord," but have (in many instances) desired just the opposite.  It is my prayer, as my family begins a new year, that the desires of our hearts would be those that reflect the desires of the Lord's heart...that we love God and love others in what we say and do each day.

Thank you for all of your continued prayers over our family.  Know that you are in our prayers as well.  It is my prayer in 2009, that each of you would see the blessings that we felt in 2008 reflected toward you...that God would touch your lives in the way that He touched ours!

Love and Blessings to you all!

Amen. Thanks for the post, Trav. Give my love to the fam! Things are going well in Kenya. We went to a rainforest this weekend which was fun to visit. We saw a lot of monkeys and beautiful birds. Unfortunately, the baboons and big cats eluded us. Blessings from Eldoret, J.
